Exotic laws by state

Forum

We now have a representative in the Pittsburg area. So If you need to find a home for your reptile Or would like to adopt one of our current reptiles please fell free to contact us here at EPARR and we will have our Pittsburg representative contact you ASAP.

Why we are doing this? There are many organizations to take in sick or unwanted dogs and cats. Yet there is nothing for reptiles. So our goal is to take in unwanted reptiles for whatever reason too big, too expensive to feed, or if the person is just tired of taking care of them.  Basically what we are doing is giving the public an outlet for getting rid of their unwanted reptiles without dumping them off at the local pet shop, or worse releasing them into the wild. This causes new ordinances and local laws, making it harder for serious keeper to acquire and house the reptiles they want to keep.

What will we do with the reptile we take in? They will be kept for a while to ensure good health. Then they will be adopted out to qualified people willing to give them good homes.

What reptiles will we take in? Any and all snakes, lizards, amphibians, if it needs a home large or small. We will even consider some venomous. Meaning the ones we have experience with. Sorry we have no more room for any iguanas or water turtles!

Who can help?  Everyone!

How you can help?
We do not accept donations of any kind. We do this strictly as a hobby in our spare time and have no plans of turning it into a second job so to speak. We love what we do and plan to keep it that way. Going with a 501c3 would not benefit us. We have found keeping up with that will just take time away from the reptile we care for. We also do not charge an adoption fee.

We are also looking for a few more volunteers to represent Eastern Pa Reptile Rescue throughout Pennsylvania. We are looking for people to interview possible adoptee. Also to pick up and hold reptiles till we can make arrangements to pick them up or hold them till they are adopted if possible. If you are interested in helping out please contact me though email with details about yourself, the areas you would be willing to service, your experience, and knowledge. We will then set up a meeting time if possible and go from there.

Our goal here is to expand our network throughout Pennsylvania and Maryland. This way we can be more efficient at taking in and placing reptiles. So come join our team and lets make a difference in the reptile community with education, compassion, and a little time. I believe we can make a huge difference in the way people choose their reptiles and also care for them. There are too many reptiles are being released and mistreated due to lack of education. It is time for a change.

This is a private venture.
The organization will be run out of our home. We do not have sponsors or financial backers. This venture is all out of pocket. You can find some educational information on the larger snakes and lizards in our care sheets. It consists of care, housing, and your responsibility as a reptile owner.
